The German company Eder produced excavators since the 50s. In 1983, it founded a joint venture with Caterpillar which brought CAT their first 200 series wheeled excavators. When caterpillar introduced their self-developed 300 series wheeld excavators in 1995, Eder vanished from the markets since it had already merged completely into the joint venture.

This rather simple model resembles the M 835 excavator, an 18 tonnes (40,000 lb) machine. The basic design dates back to around 1980, but this version already features the form and collour from the period after 1983.
