| Description | Caterpillar extended its product range towards larger dump trucks in 1986 and introduced the 789. With a payload of 195 sht, the truck was not the largest one on the market in total, but the largest mechanically driven one, since other machines of this size used a diesel-electric drive system. The truck is powered by a 1705 hp diesel. |
