DescriptionIn 1985 Schwing introduced the concrete placing boom KVM52 with a maximum height of 52 m (170 ft) which at that time was not only Schwing’s biggest placing boom but also was among the biggest booms of other manufacturers. Since at this time it was almost impossible to obtain a lincese to operate a truck with more than three axles in Germany, no suitable truck chassis was readily available for such a big rig. Therefore, Schwing ordered a custom built chassis from Terberg, a Dutch manufacturer of special vehicles. Terberg used several Volvo mass production components as is clearly visible on the driver’cab.
