Description | The NZG accessory set for the Liebherr LRB255 contains miscellaneous parts to demonstrate five different methods of drilling and piling:
- Kelly Drilling: For this method, a kelly rod is used to guide and drive a drilling tool, usually a short auger. To support the wall of the drilled hole, casings are used which can be driven either by a second drive on the drilling head or by casing oscillator (both are reprodruced in this model).
- Ring Vibrator: A ring vibrator is used to force steel casings, which are closed with a type of lid on the bottom, into the ground. The casings act as an support for the “drilled” hole and are retracted after pouring concrete into the hole.
- Hydraulic Hammer: Hydraulic hammers are used to drive pre-made piles out of steel or concrete into the ground.
- Double Rotary Drilling: For this method, a continous auger and a casing are counter-rotated and driven into the ground simultaneously. After the drilling, the concrete is poured into the hole through the core of the auger./li>
- Continous Flight Auger (CFA): At CFA drilling, a long auger is used without any casing. The concrete is poured into the hole through the core of the auger.
