| Description | The blasthole drill rig PV-275 is the medium sized rig in Atlas-Copco's current “Pit Viper” line-up. Drill rigs like this are used to drill holes into the ground at large opencast pits, which are filled with explosives. With this, large amounts of rock can be blasted. The Pit Viper 275 can drill holes with a diameter of 171–270 mm (6¾–10⅝ in) and a maximum depth of 59,4 m (195 ft). It weighs about 84 tonnes (185,000 lb) and can be equipped with several different motors, ranging from 700 hp to 950 hp. |
