| Description | Since I happen to live not far away from the Frankfurt/Main airport, I decided to buy this impressive model for my collection – despite the fact it isn’t construction equipment. The Goldhofer AST-1 is an up-to-date aircraft tractor, that doesn’t move aircraft with a push rod, but takes the aircaft’s front wheel in rearward mount. This way, taxiing is easier and the tractor needs less weight. With a maximum payload of 400 metric tons (882,000 lb) and 600 hp, it is Goldhofer’s largest aircraft tractor. |
