The LTM&bsp;1500—or later LTM 1500-8.1—with a strike load of 500 metric tons (551 sht), was one of Liebherr's bigger mobile cranes. Between 1998 and 2021, 626 cranes of this type in total were built, making it Liebherr's best-selling large mobile crane. It was available with either a 50 m (164 ft) or 84 m (275 ft)long telescopic boom. The undercarriage is powered by a Liebherr diesel engine with 440–505 kW (598–686 hp, depending on the year of construction), while the upper carriage is powered by a Liebherr diesel engine with 240 kW (326 hp).

This model is painted in the livery of the German heavy crane rental company Riga Mainz. The real machine was the 500^th build crane of this type, which is also documented by a “500” logo on the boom.
