In order to achieve better compaction of cohesive soils, so called sheepsfoot rollers are used. This modell of a Caterpillar CP-563C (predecessor to the current CP-563E) is equipped in such a manner. It also features a simple ROPS canopy, which is rather common in America.

With a weight of roughly 11 t (25,000 lb) an a drum width of 2.10 m (84 in), the CP-563 is a medium sized compactor.
