While wheelloaders used to have either a steering rear axle or a articulated steering mechanism, in 1994 Liebherr introduced the “Stereo” principle for small loaders. This encludes both kinds of steering mechanism on one machine and is supposed to combine the stability of conventional steering with the maneuverability of articulated steering.

On of the first loaders of this series was the L 507 Stereo, which is now produced in slightly reworked version with a weight of 3.5 tonnes (7,700 lb).
