Description | The so-called “New Generation” of heavy trucks was introduced by Mercedes in 1973 and was built, with minor modifications, until 1988 when it was replaced by the SK series. Since the Conrad model doesn't feature a type designation, the type 1617 (16 metric tons gross vehicle weight, 170 hp engine) is just a guess. Other possibilities would be 1619 (190 hp) or 1017. The Conrad model resembles a truck from the first series NG trucks (commonly referred to as “NG73”) that was built from 1973 to 1980. The model is painted in the livery of the former truckage company “Johann Birkart” of Aschaffenburg, Germany. It was founded in 1877 and today belongs to the Logwin-Gruppe. |
